The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) on June 22, 2026, issued the Draft Chhattisgarh State Electricity Grid Code, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The draft seeks to align the State Grid Code with the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, the latest national regulatory framework, and evolving power sector requirements, while ensuring reliable, secure, economic, and efficient grid operations.
• It lays down responsibilities for the State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC), transmission licensees, distribution licensees, generating stations, renewable energy generators, open access consumers, and other grid users, covering areas such as grid planning, connectivity, scheduling and despatch, forecasting and scheduling of renewable energy, metering, communication systems, outage planning, demand estimation, contingency management, grid security, restoration procedures, data exchange, cyber security, and operational coordination among all stakeholders.
• The draft also strengthens compliance, reporting, monitoring, and dispute resolution mechanisms to improve grid reliability, facilitate greater integration of renewable energy, and promote efficient electricity system operations across the State.
• Public comments on the draft have been invited until July 17, 2026.
